Company profile

Germany’s Leading Brands under One Roof

The Bitburger Braugruppe has been family owned and operated for seven generations. Today, the group is home to 1600 employees and the Bitburger, König Pilsener, Köstritzer, and Licher brands. In addition, Bitburger Braugruppe has a distribution agreement with Benediktiner Weißbräu GmbH.

Founded as a small local brewery in Germany’s Eifel region in 1817, Bitburger has grown into Germany’s no. 1 draft beer brand. Renowned for its unique taste, the brewery is the group’s flagship—and has been for over 200 years. König Pilsener is the first German premium Pilsner that’s at home wherever superior quality is the standard. For years, the Köstritzer Schwarzbier specialty beer has been the undisputed No. 1 in the black beer segment in Germany. Purity, freshness, and naturalness are the qualities that distinguish Licher’s premium beer varieties, which come “from the heart of nature,” and have made it one of the most popular breweries in Hesse. By distributing the successful Benediktiner Weißbier brand, which is now available in bars, restaurants, and stores all over Germany, the Bitburger Braugruppe is able to offer a comprehensive portfolio of different premium beer styles in and outside of Germany.

The Best Raw Materials for Exceptional Beer

The Bitburger Braugruppe and its brands believe in only using and offering superior-quality products. As a result, the group applies high standards to the raw materials it uses. Its careful quality management guarantees first-class products.

Bitburger Braugruppe’s International Export Hits: Benediktiner, Bitburger, and Köstritzer

Following in the Bitburger brand’s footsteps, Köstritzer Schwarzbier and Benediktiner Weissbier are also particularly popular abroad. The two brands show a particular potential for further growth regardless of the respective local economic situation.
